SeamlessMD AI-Generated Patient Education Videos: helping health systems scale visual patient education, with sample deep breathing, straight leg raise and squat exercise videos

TORONTO, October 23, 2026 — SeamlessMD, a leading Digital Care Journey platform for health systems, today announced the launch of AI-generated patient education videos, introducing a growing library of ready-to-use visual education designed to help patients better understand and manage their care. By using AI to create videos from its established evidence-based patient education content, SeamlessMD aims to make high-quality visual guidance available at scale, without requiring health systems to invest in resource intensive traditional video production.

Whether recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition or undergoing cancer treatment, patients are often expected to follow complex instructions outside of clinical settings. While written instructions and illustrations remain important, videos can make it easier to demonstrate exercises, explain care activities and show patients what to expect.

Yet producing patient education videos has historically been difficult to scale. Traditional production requires a large team available for writing, filming, editing and making ongoing updates as clinical protocols evolve, making it impractical and unaffordable for many health systems to develop videos for every procedure, condition and stage of care.

SeamlessMD's new capability addresses this challenge by using AI to develop a growing library of patient education videos that can be delivered directly within patients' digital care journeys.

Scaling Trusted Patient Education Through AI

Rather than generating health information from scratch, SeamlessMD uses AI to transform its established, evidence-based patient education content into visual demonstrations and explanations.

Every AI-generated video undergoes human editing and clinical review before being made available to patients, combining the scalability of AI with human oversight.

By developing reusable videos that integrate directly into its digital care plans, SeamlessMD enables health systems to offer high-quality visual education without the resources traditionally required to produce and maintain extensive video libraries.

The initial rollout focuses on physiotherapy exercises for patients undergoing hip and knee replacement surgery. Instead of relying solely on written descriptions and illustrations, patients can watch demonstrations of recommended exercises as part of their digital care plans, helping them better understand how to perform movements during recovery.

“Health systems and patients have told us for years that they would benefit from more video education, but producing it at scale has been out of reach for many organizations. AI gives us an opportunity to change that, helping more patients see clearly what to do and feel confident following their care instructions.”

Making Video a Standard Part of the Digital Care Journey

Unlike standalone video libraries, SeamlessMD's approach incorporates visual education into the digital care plans patients already use to prepare for treatment, navigate recovery and manage ongoing health conditions.

Beginning with physiotherapy exercises for hip and knee replacement, SeamlessMD plans to expand its AI-generated video library across additional surgical specialties, including spine, cardiac and thoracic surgery, as well as chronic care, oncology and other care journeys supported by the platform.

SeamlessMD also plans to introduce AI-generated voiceovers and translated closed captions to make educational videos accessible to patients in multiple languages.

“Historically, producing patient education videos has been expensive and time-consuming, limiting how widely health systems could offer them. AI changes what's possible. We can now build and continuously expand a library of clinically reviewed videos across different procedures, conditions and stages of care, making video education a standard part of the patient experience rather than the exception.”
